Course Description:

Anyone convicted of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs is required to attend a Drinker Driver (DUI-OWI) class.

This class provides the most recent research information about alcohol and drugs in order that you may identify and understand the effect of alcohol-drugs on your ability to drive. A special emphasis is placed on impairment, social attitudes, self-evaluation, and alternative behaviors.

Important Information:

·      This course meets the requirements for a 12-hour Driving Under the Influence (DUI) course required by Iowa Code 321J.17(2a) and 321J(2a4). If you need to comply with a DUI-OWI conviction, you may register in this course to satisfy state requirements.

·      This course is held at the Western Iowa Tech campus in Sioux City, IA.

·      Successful completion of the course requires that you fully attend both days. 

·      DUI Drinker Driver Class – Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy

o   To ensure consistency and proper planning for all WITCC DUI Drinker Driver classes, the following policy will be enforced to ensure fairness to all participants and to maintain the integrity and scheduling of the program. If you have any questions regarding this policy or need assistance with rescheduling, please contact our office.

§  Rescheduling Fee:
Any participant who needs to reschedule their class will be required to pay a $25 rescheduling fee.

§  Cancellation & Rescheduling Timeline:
If a participant is unable to attend their scheduled class, they must cancel and request to reschedule at least 48 hours prior to the class start time (no later than Thursday at 8:00 AM). This allows us to manage class rosters and offer available spots to other participants.

§  No-Show Policy:
Participants who do not attend their scheduled class and fail to provide proper notice will be considered a no-show. In this case, the participant will forfeit the full $180 class fee.

§  Re-Enrollment After No-Show:
Any participant who forfeits their fee due to a no-show will be required to pay the full $180 class fee again in order to register for a future class.
